  • Fluidized bed reactors with separation of oxidizing and reducing zones for selective oxidation processes and for catalytic dehydrogenations

  • These reactors allow to make catalytic oxidation processes by using the oxygen from the catalyst lattice, oxidizing an hydrocarbon in absence of gaseous oxygen, since the solid is transported to the oxidizing zone, where it is regenerated.

    These reactor can also be used in many dehydrogenation reactions. In this case the catalyst can be continously regenerated by burning the coke in the oxidizing zone, whereas the reaction proceeds in the reducing zone. In this way the operation stops to regenerate the catalyst bed are avoided.
