Redox systems for separating and storing hydrogen

Regarding the field of Hydrogen Technologies, the group has specialized in the separation of hydrocarbon mixtures with enriched hydrogen content, as well as storing of hydrogen by alternative means.  These enriched mixtures can be obtained in processes like the pyrolisis of biomass, or the catalytic thermal decomposition of natural gas.  In order to achieve this goal, solids with REDOX features are being used.  The aim is looking for the best solids, contactors and operating variables.  In this context, the process should be able to produce separations in an efficient manner, thus avoiding the traditional cryogenic processes or those based on selective adsorption.  Additionally, these systems are being thoroughly tested as alternative methods of hydrogen storage.
